We're thrilled to announce a monumental milestone for the Badminton Association for Mumbai Upanagar (BAMU)!
Recently affiliated with the Maharashtra Badminton Association, BAMU has ended a 5-year hiatus in the Mumbai Suburban District. Formed just a few months ago, our passionate team, led by:
- Avinash Dharmadhikari (President)
- Sameer Patankar (Secretary)
- Ravi Doshi (Jt. Secretary)
- George Varghese (Treasurer)
has achieved the remarkable by hosting our inaugural event at Shahaji Raje Stadium (Andheri Sports Complex).
Thanks to the trust and sponsorship of the State Bank of India (SBI), the District Badminton Tournament was nothing short of spectacular. Held from Jan 26-28, this event saw 162 players competing in 142 matches over three days.
The presence of the Honorary Secretary of Maharashtra Badminton Association, Shri Shrikant Vad, who graced the finals and prize distribution, added prestige to our event. We were honored by the support and blessings of many dignitaries from various fields.
BAMU is on a mission to reignite badminton enthusiasm in Mumbai's suburbs. This is just the beginning!
